Pre BOTOX Treatment Instructions
Pre-Botox treatment instructions are essential to ensure safety, effectiveness, and optimal results.
Consultation: It is crucial to discuss your goals, expectations, medical history, and any concerns you may have with us.
Medical History: Please provide a comprehensive medical history, including any allergies, medical conditions, medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and supplements), and previous cosmetic procedures.
Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications: Certain medications and supplements can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. Please avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), fish oil, and vitamin E for 7-10 days before the procedure.
Alcohol and Smoking: It’s advisable to avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24-48 hours before and after the procedure, as they can increase the risk of bruising and interfere with healing.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin before the procedure. Sunburned or irritated skin may affect the results and increase discomfort during the procedure.
Discuss Expectations: It is essential to clearly understand the results you wish to achieve and communicate them effectively during the consultation.
Post BOTOX Treatment Instructions
Post-Botox treatment instructions are essential to ensure proper healing, minimize side effects, and maximize the effectiveness of the treatment.
Immediate Care After the Procedure:
Avoid Touching: Refrain from touching or massaging the treated area for at least 4 hours after the injections. It helps prevent the spread of Botox to unintended muscles.
Minimize Physical Activity:
Avoid vigorous and strenuous exercises or activities for the rest of the day after treatment. It helps reduce the risk of spreading Botox to unintended muscles and enhances the effectiveness of the treatment.
Avoid Heat and Sun Exposure:
Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid hot tubs, saunas, and tanning beds for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment. Heat can increase blood flow to the face and may cause the Botox to migrate.
Gentle Skin Care:
Continue your skincare routine, but avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area. Use gentle cleansing and moisturizing products.
Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications and Supplements:
Refrain from taking aspirin, NSAIDs (like ibuprofen), fish oil, vitamin E, and other blood-thinning medications or supplements for at least 24-48 hours after the procedure to minimize the risk of bruising.
Follow-Up Appointment:
Schedule a follow-up appointment with us if recommended. It is to assess your results and address any concerns you may have.
Patience for Results:
Botox typically takes a few days to start working and up to 2 weeks to see the full effects. Be patient during this time and avoid making judgments about the results too soon.
Avoid Facial Treatments:
Refrain from facial treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments in the treated area for at least 1-2 weeks post-treatment. These treatments may irritate the skin and affect the results of the Botox.
Monitor for Side Effects:
Be aware of any unusual or severe side effects, such as difficulty swallowing, speaking, or breathing, and contact us immediately if you experience these symptoms.
