Pre Dermal Fillers Treatment Instructions
Pre-dermal filler instructions are essential to ensure the best possible outcome and minimize any risks associated with the procedure.
Consultation: It is crucial to discuss your goals, expectations, medical history, and any concerns you may have with us.
Medical History: Please provide a comprehensive medical history, including any allergies, medical conditions, medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and supplements), and previous cosmetic procedures.
Avoid Blood-Thinning Medications: Certain medications and supplements can increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. Please avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), fish oil, and vitamin E for 7-10 days before the procedure.
Alcohol and Smoking: It’s advisable to avoid alcohol and smoking for at least 24-48 hours before and after the procedure, as they can increase the risk of bruising and interfere with healing.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin tends to respond better to dermal fillers.
Avoid Sun Exposure: Avoid sun exposure and use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin before the procedure. Sunburned or irritated skin may affect the results and increase discomfort during the procedure.
Avoid Skin Treatments: Refrain from facial treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or waxing in the treatment area for at least 1-2 weeks before your appointment. These treatments can irritate the skin and increase the risk of complications.
No vaccines in the 2 weeks before dermal filler injection.
Discuss Expectations: It is essential to clearly understand the results you wish to achieve and communicate them effectively during the consultation.
Post Dermal Fillers Treatment Instructions
Post-dermal filler instructions are essential to ensure proper healing, minimize complications, and optimize the procedure results.
Immediate Care After the Procedure:
Ice Packs: We recommend applying ice packs wrapped in a cloth to the treated area to help reduce swelling and discomfort if needed. Use ice packs intermittently for 10-15 minutes at a time during the first few hours post-procedure.
Avoid Touching or Pressing the Treated Area:
It’s important to avoid touching or applying pressure to the treated area immediately after the procedure to prevent displacement of the filler.
Minimize Physical Activity:
Refrain from vigorous exercise or activities that may increase blood flow to the face for the first 24-48 hours after treatment. It helps to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
Sleeping Position:
Sleep with your head elevated for the first night after treatment to minimize swelling further.
Avoid Sun and Heat Exposure:
Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning beds, saunas, hot tubs, and hot showers for at least 24-48 hours post-procedure. Heat can increase swelling and irritation at the injection site.
Avoid Alcohol and Blood-Thinning Medications:
Refrain from consuming alcohol and medications or supplements that thin the blood (such as aspirin, NSAIDs, fish oil, and vitamin E) for 24-48 hours post-procedure to reduce the risk of bruising.
Gentle Skin Care:
No makeup for 24 hours. You can continue your regular skincare routine, but avoid harsh products or treatments (like chemical peels or microdermabrasion) in the treated area for at least 1-2 weeks post-procedure.
Follow-Up Appointment:
Schedule a follow-up appointment if recommended. This allows us to assess your healing progress and ensure you are satisfied with the results.
Monitor for Complications:
Be aware of any signs of infection (increased redness, swelling, pain, or warmth at the injection site), and contact us immediately if you experience these symptoms.
Patience for Results:
Dermal fillers may take a few days to settle into their final position and for any initial swelling to subside. Final results typically become noticeable within 1-2 weeks post-procedure.
